John Boynton, CEO and DAD

I am the founder and CEO of SchoolPulse, a kid management system designed to simplify life for parents and the wonderful people who lead and organize all the events in which their kids participate.  I have four young children (does that make me a founding father?) whose lives often subsume my own. I am actively involved (and often over-extended) as a volunteer in their schools, as a youth sports coach and on several non-profit boards.

I have been involved in a variety of startups and love the small company environment. I started my first company in Russia in 1990 and co-founded 3 others including Yandex, the largest search engine in Russia. I have had a couple that didn’t work out and do some angel investing, too. I spent some time at Forrester Research and am an admitted gadget freak. I love technology and I believe it is truly a force for good.

But first and foremost, I am a dad who likes nothing better than hanging out with his kids.

For more on my background, see my profile on LinkedIn. For more on my current company, check out SchoolPulse.

I read your TBS post, John. Like you, I am DISQUSTED by the preponderence of sex in our popular culture and of course, during prime time television. How can we rid ourseleves of this plague? Surely, one can create a sex-free viewing corridor for people who prefer family values to sex-filled commercials.

I am responding to the CEO of school pulse in an effort to find out how to get support for your website. I have tried calling and e-mailing tech support with no response. I have tried joining the school pulse improvment groups and requesting support with no response. How does someone who is using your great site get tech support. We would love to continue using but if we cannot e-mail those who are part of our group then we are not utilizing the greatness of this website to communicate with our parents. Please let me know what I need to do.

    Thank You!!

I appreciate the cute blogs and everything, but I’m extremely frustrated with SchoolPulse right now. I’m hoping that you are the one person that will get the ball rolling. I’ve left help requests and have been completely ignored. The one that I really need help with is that every single time I try to click on a group link I get rerouted to a Dell page saying that there’s an error message w/ school pulses link. Please tell me what I’m supposed to do. I loved the site – when I could view the groups I needed advice from.
